I Remember Not Remembering

February 11 – April 30, 2017

Organized by the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition I Remember Not Remembering presents twelve celebrated international artists who use personal home movies, photo albums and film footage as material for artworks. Each work invokes a believable but questionable portrait of kinship, social change or personal tragedy. Familiar domestic scenes inspire a wistful nostalgia while unreliable narrators recount stories that comingle fact and invention. The show includes the 2004 work Road Trip by Canadian artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller.
