Nick Loper was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and currently serves as the Lead Government Affairs Representative at Tucson Electric Power. In this role, he leads legislative advocacy efforts at the Arizona State Capitol on behalf of both Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Services. His responsibilities also include engaging with local governments across Arizona and supporting federal affairs as they relate to Arizona. Nick also serves as a board member on the Arizona Tax Research Association and the Greater Tucson Leadership Civic, Political, & Leadership Academy steering committee.
Nick plays a key role in promoting civic engagement within the utility sector, including staffing the UNS Energy Political Action Committee and chairing the Arizona Utility Caucus to advance awareness of policy issues that impact the industry. Prior to joining TEP, he spent four years in the administration of Governor Doug Ducey, where he held several positions, including School Facilities Administrator for the State of Arizona. He also served as Policy Advisor to former Commissioner Andy Tobin at the Arizona Corporation Commission.
Nick holds degrees in Political Communications and Law & Public Policy from the University of Arizona.
